Trey Wood Elected to Young Agents Board of IIA of Georgia
Trey Wood, a Commercial Insurance Specialist at Turner Wood & Smith Insurance, has been selected to serve on the Young Agents of Georgia Board of Directors of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia. This will be Wood’s first term on the Board of Directors, which represents 500 plus member agents under the age of forty. The group’s major areas of interests are improving the member’s communication skills, refining marketing and sales skills, helping to develop technical knowledge and expertise, and through the promotion of professional and interpersonal relationships assist the agents in promoting their common business interests.
Wood joined Turner Wood & Smith in 2008 and holds professional certifications as an Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and as a Certified Worker’s Compensation Advisor, or CWCA. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he earned his business degree in Risk Management & Insurance, with additional study at the Selective Insurance School. A third generation member of the Wood family to serve in the company, Trey Wood also carries on the family’s commitment to community service. He is actively involved in the Gainesville Jaycees and their annual Mule Camp Market, the United Way of Hall County and their Young Leaders organization, the Trellis Society of the Medical Center Foundation of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and is a member of the Gainesville First United Methodist Church.
