Insurance Professionals of Gainesville Honor Floyd & McClure

Two members of the Turner Wood & Smith Insurance agency were honored at the Insurance Professionals of Gainesville’s annual awards banquet for their service to the insurance industry and the community. Jimbo Floyd, Partner and Vice President, was honored for the second time since 2008 as “Insurance Man of the Year,” and Leslie McClure, Commercial Lines Account Executive was recognized as “Insurance Professional of the Year” for the first time, however she was honored in 2011 and 2013 as “Insurance Woman of the Year”.

Floyd joined the agency in 2005 and in addition to his management duties with TWS, he also specializes in Property and Casualty insurance. Floyd holds one of the insurance industry’s most highly recognized designations as a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). As a graduate of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, Floyd has worked with the university each year to help develop business leaders in the insurance community. He also continues to be an active member in the community. He has served on many civic and non-profit boards including: the Gainesville Jaycees, United way, Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, Gainesville State College, Young Agents of Georgia, We Care Foundation, and Gainesville First United Methodist Church. Floyd’s work with the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce earned him a Silver Shovel Award in 2013 and his outstanding work in the community earned him the Gainesville Jaycee’s Young Man of the Year award this year.

McClure joined Turner Wood & Smith Insurance in 2003. She served as President of the Insurance Professionals of Gainesville in 2013. Her professional designations include the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), Certified Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW), Professional in Insurance Account Management (PIAM), Certified Leadership Professional (CLP), Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS), Certified Professional in Insurance (CPII), Accredited Customer Service Representative in Commercial Lines (ACSRC), and Diversified Advanced Education (DAE). McClure enjoys giving back to her community and currently volunteers with the Medical Center Auxiliary at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center and the Salvation Army.
