Floyd Receives Chamber Of Commerce Honor

Jimbo Floyd, Vice President and Partner of Turner Wood & Smith Insurance, has been awarded the prestigious Silver Shovel Award by the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. The award was made at the Chamber’s annual meeting in recognition of Floyd’s continued involvement in Chamber activities. In 2006 he was selected for Leadership Hall and then named as an Associate Director of the Chamber in 2007. He was elected to the Board of Directors in 2008, and since 2011 has served as Vice President for Membership Development and on the Board’s Executive Committee. Twice he has chaired or co-chaired the Chamber’s annual Hackers Holiday Golf Tournament, and been involved in various events designed to increase chamber membership.
Floyd is a member of the Gainesville Jaycees and involved in a number of that organization’s community support efforts, including the Empty Stocking Campaign and Habitat for Humanity. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of We Care, is a member of the Board of Governors at the Chattahoochee Country Club, and a Trustee at Gainesville First United Methodist Church.
