Community Involvement at Turner, Wood & Smith

Tuesday July 06, 2010 - Four colleagues at Turner, Wood & Smith Insurance of Gainesville have assumed positions of leadership within various local or state organizations.

Joe T. Wood, Jr., President & CEO of Turner, Wood & Smith has been appointed to the State of Georgia Road and Toll Authority by Lt. Governor Casey Cagle. The agency operates toll roads within the state and serves as the financing arm for state transportation agencies.

Rob Fowler, Executive Vice President and COO, has been elected as 88th President of the 200-plus member Gainesville Rotary Club. Earlier this year Fowler was the recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award from North Georgia College and State University.

Trey Wood and Jimbo Floyd, both members of the Commercial Division at Turner, Wood & Smith have been chosen for positions with the Greater Hall County Chamber of Commerce. Floyd was elected to a three-year term on the Chamber’s Board of Directors and Wood was selected as a participant in the 2010 Class of Leadership Hall County.
